Seeking a Mainframe System Support Analyst for a contract to hire, hybrid role located in Columbia, SC.
*US Citizen work status required. Hybrid role, 3 days onsite in office, 1 day remote. Candidates need to be local to Columbia SC or within a comfortable commuting distance and able to work onsite 3 days a week.
Description
What You Will Do In This Role:
Typical day will be to monitor batch job cycles and engage in troubleshooting if one of those jobs goes down, which would involve reaching out to App Dev or Tech Support at times for help. In addition, monitoring jobs for performance issues and engaging if a job is running long or not getting CPU.
About The Team:
8 person team that they will interact heavily with, along with interacting with App Dev and Tech Support on call. This team has a lot of experience and works very well together.
Requirements
Required Work Experience:
6 years of technical experience with systems analysis, design, and/or programming experience or other job related IT experience.
Required Technologies:
Batch Mainframe knowledge, JCL, Zeke Scheduling, TSO
Nice To Have: MQ, CICS, DB2, IMS Database, ServiceNow. Knowledge of Mainframe CPU usage.
Soft Skills: Communication skills are important as they will work with on-call resources from App Dev and Tech Support and will rely on them for help. Teamwork also as they will be part of a team of 8 people
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree. or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree.
