About the Role
We are seeking to hire a Mainframe Programmer Analyst with Batch Mainframe knowledge, JCL, Zeke Scheduling, and TSO with our client in Columbia SC. Role is Partial Onsite - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Onsite and as needed
US Citizen Work Status required due to government clearance requirement.
Description
What you’ll do in this role:
• Monitor batch job cycles and engage in troubleshooting if one of those jobs goes down, which would involve reaching out to App Dev or Tech Support at times for help. In addition, monitoring jobs for performance issues and engaging if a job is running long or not getting CPU.
Position Details:
• Make recommendations to management to adjust system performance parameters. Delegate problem resolution to other team members and conduct follow-up.
• Provide enhancement recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. Analyze new/revised processes/change requests from the maintainer. Collaborate with various internal groups and external vendors to ensure all specifications are met and problems are resolved as they arise.
• Participate in the development of custom integration solutions. Review and research issues reported from external/internal customers. Evaluate interrelationships in projects to determine how changes/installations of one program will affect others.
• Participate in work sessions and walkthroughs for quality and production implementations, releases, data conversion projects and/or disaster recovery exercises. Attend implementation meetings to determine impact to system availability and assignment of team resources for these implementations.
• Work closely with team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Act as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent. Answer questions and/or provide training for the Production Support team on current system
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related field or additional years of job related work experience
• 6 years of technical experience with systems analysis, design, and/or programming experience or other job related IT experience
• Required Technologies: Batch Mainframe knowledge, JCL, Zeke Scheduling, TSO
• Nice To Have: MQ, CICS, DB2, IMS Database, ServiceNow. Knowledge of Mainframe CPU usage.
• Soft Skills: Communication skills are important as they will work with on-call resources from App Dev and Tech Support and will rely on them for help.
