On Tuesday, Core Technology Solutions joined local, state, and national leaders to celebrate the opening of the new Capgemini offices in the Bull Street District of downtown Columbia. CTS has worked with Capgemini (through its recently acquired IT solutions company, TCube) for several years to provide IT talent to its growing P&C insurance technology solutions team.
In attendance were Mayor Steve Benjamin, USC President Harold Pastides, State Rep. Jim Smith, City of Columbia officials, technology leaders from around the Midlands, and the executives and staff of the new Capgemini center.
Representing Core Technology Solutions were President Vivian Ford and Business Development Director Jeff Rogers.

Business Wire reported that the new technology office represents “the largest urban redevelopment project east of the Mississippi River.” Sam McGuckin, who led TCube Solutions from its incubation through a rapid expansion into the Capgemini family, commented:
“Capgemini selected The BullStreet District in Columbia as the site of its latest delivery center partly because of its acquisition of Columbia-based TCube Solutions. BullStreet is the state’s first urban gigabit community in a city that has a growing reputation as an IT hub. We are excited about being a part of the dynamic BullStreet District.” (1)
Core Technology Solutions sees this expansion as a win-win for both the IT and insurance sectors, but especially for the greater Columbia area, where insurance and technology have intersected to put the Midlands on the map as one of the nation’s leading resources for top IT talent.
