Accomplishment is sweet to the taste. Completing any project, milestone, or course of study has a huge impact on our lives. And when you’re retooling your skills to be more effective in your career and life, there is great satisfaction when you reach the end of your preparation.
That was the scene at the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department in Columbia yesterday. Six students completed their 11-month training program in Information Technology and graduated with certifications necessary for them to take the next step in their careers. Core Technology Solutions has been a partner with the IT Training group at SCVR for many years, advising students on career choices, resumes, interviews, and placement services that help them continue their preparation and launch them into the next phase of their careers.

CTS President Vivian Ford attends monthly advisory meetings on site in the IT training facility with other business leaders who have expertise in the broad spectrum of IT applications, services, and management. Students and faculty alike are invited to ask questions about software, hardware, certifications, the current job market, and much more in order to make the course of study as beneficial as possible.
Some of the graduates already have jobs lined up. One student told me yesterday that he’s got a job secured with Google when he heads back to his home on the coast. His father attended the graduation and could not have been prouder of his son nor more thankful for the program at SCVR.
Mrs. Ford sees partnerships like these as avenues for Core Technology Solutions to give back to those who are determined to make a difference in their own lives, their families, and their communities.
